Post #2 for Lyme Awareness Month

I don’t have much strength or endurance in my hands today so I will just post some videos. The video is of Avril Lavigne and her brief summary of Lyme. The thing that is important from the video is that conventional doctors seriously do just push us away. She only had it for 2 months before she felt that seeking more help was necessary, but she was smart to seek a Lyme specialist – LLMD. Her description of symptoms are real, the struggle and feelings she talks about are the real deal. Lyme specialists are really good at diagnosing based on a conversation and description of a victim’s symptoms. There are several other celebrities who have shared their story, but there are hundreds of thousands of more people who suffer everyday, some are even blind to the fact that they have Lyme.

Also, I thought I’d add the song I listen to at least twice a day. It’s been sort of my theme song since I began my journey. My auntie Sarah shared it with me.. (Thank you auntie! Love you so much!)

Here is the story behind the song, featuring part of the song being dedicated to their sister who suffered from Lyme disease. (That part starts at 38 seconds.)

So, stay strong. Hell presents itself, but God prevails. Rising above and dragging yourself in a forward movement is what you’ve got to do.

Most importantly, Lyme disease is real, and don’t dismiss someone because they don’t have obvious symptoms or a glaring reason to be in bed all day. Live your life giving your peers, friends and strangers the benefit of the doubt and approach life with a gracious, open heart.

Stay strong,

Elise Hendrickson
